Property Details

The juxtaposition of the classic Colonial facade and the spectacular, bespoke Shapes For The People mural tips off 61 Midland’s many unexpected features. Perched atop a hill, this home is well-situated for mingling with neighbors and accessing the area’s many resources and attractions–transportation to NYC and surrounding towns, Maplewood pool, eateries, stores, etc.

The spaces inside and out are perfectly designated and proportioned for today’s priorities. An inviting entryway, an eat-in kitchen, first floor powder room, separate living room and family room provide spacious & distinct common areas, with an easy flow for everyday use and entertaining. The bank of windows in the oversized family room bathe the room in light during the day and provide a dramatic backdrop for nighttime gathering. The possible uses for the finished basement with full bath are endless–home office, exercise, guest use, media room, workshop, etc.–without sacrificing storage. The sun-soaked second floor is home to generously sized bedrooms, with an especially large primary bedroom with loads of closet space.

The broad deck and sweeping, level, fenced yard are ideal for respite and recreation. Private enough for both quiet recharging and lively hospitality.

With numerous improvements from top to bottom, inside and out, 61 Midland is a move-in ready Maplewood gem.

Dear Future Homeowners,

We have loved every minute of living at 61 Midland. We moved here 10 years ago from NYC when we were pregnant with our first born. We immediately loved the location on this quaint street and the way this house sits on a little hill. We have fond memories of sitting on the front porch when our kids were tiny and they would wave to the neighbors walking by.

Our favorite part of the house is the large living space which is where we spend most of our time. The big backyard, deck and sprawling first floor has made this house perfect for entertaining and we were definitely known as the party house amongst our neighbors. We are convinced that the coolest people in Maplewood chose to live on Midland Boulevard and it’s the hardest part about moving.

The fireplace in the winter is magical and makes the most instagramable pictures during the holidays. The backyard is one of the biggest in the neighborhood and the wide open space is perfect for games and practicing whatever sport you choose. The enclosed backyard is also great for pets!

Here’s something you may not think about when buying a house: driveways! We didn’t know it at the time but buying a house with a double driveway was a good idea and a rare find. We can freely park without ever having to think about moving our car out of the way for someone else. In addition, it’s been freshly paved. Our driveway mural was commissioned by our favorite artist, who also lives in town. We love being known as “the house with the cool driveway mural.”

This house has a giant, beautiful tree in the front and we often joke that it could get picked to be the tree for Rockefeller center one day. It gives the perfect amount of shade and helps keep the house cool in the warmer months. This house is just as cozy at night as it is bright and vibrant during the day. Sun comes into those big windows in the family room and we love having our morning coffee in there. At night, we all watch tv and snuggle on the couch.

Our dining room is another place we spend lots of time. We have hosted many holiday parties and Thanksgivings there.

61 Midland has been very well looked after and maintained and is ready for the next owners to enjoy.
