Welcome!
“Lyrical” is a good word to describe this house. It has so many lovely corners and scenes. The thoughtful planning and playful creativity of the architect and its harmony with the garden are poetic. Over the years we did our best to work with its poetry, to add a harmonious “verse” or two of our own. The house was a deeply meaningful and beautiful setting for our nearly 14 years living in it.
The house is in harmony with nature around it. The flowers make their appearances in vivid crescendos throughout the spring and summer. An entertaining cast of animal visitors will delight you daily. (Birdseed helps but not required.) The sun brings hope for the day through the master and living room windows and sustains you from the sunporch and the kitchen in the afternoon. In the evening on the patio, your eyes are drawn up to the silhouettes of the trees against the sky. As the stars begin popping out, you see a bunny or two hopping in the grass from the corner of your eye.
We are very happy to report that all of this loveliness extends to human neighbors! If you choose to live here, you will be surrounded by good people on all sides. They are there to help if you need them, always friendly, cordial and respectful.
Finding this house always felt providential to us. How it happened was a bit accidental, and so our story there had a sort of mythic quality. Throughout the years, we shared the house and our lives with a steady stream of friends and family. Each of our guest’s reactions to the house reminded us of how blessed we were to be its latest inhabitants. We were happy and felt a certain responsibility to share it.
Our leaving is certainly bittersweet. While it’s not easy to leave, we are consoled by the idea of sharing it with new owners
Thank you for stopping by. We hope you enjoy it here, if only for a few minutes. Perhaps you intend to stay a bit longer 🙂.
Warmly,
Fabio and Chris
