Dear Future Homeowners,
The first time I got on a Zoom call with my colleagues when we were all locked in by COVID, they commented on how wonderful my backdrop was. I proudly explained that it was my beautiful ‘Maplewood Room’ home office in Montrose, South Orange.
Surrounded by all the windows and 2 skylights that drench the room in morning sunlight and looking out at the majestic trees, I feel blessed each day. Yes, it feels a bit like the countryside here with the expansive greens, fresh air and open space, yet you are within walking distance of Mountain train station for a 32 minute train ride to NYC.
Our kids could safely ride their bikes or walk to school and to all of South Orange’s great sporting fields, tennis courts, and swimming pool. We spent many nights enjoying outdoor summer concerts on Floods Hill. Our kids would often walk to downtown to hang out with their friends, enjoying
Starbucks or Cold Stone Creamery.
In this beautiful house, we each could find something to love: My wife loves her large open kitchen and family room with full view of trees and birds singing. She would do her yoga on the 2nd floor surrounded by all the windows looking out to the backyard and meditate to the sounds of the
squirrels and hawks chasing each other up in the trees. Afterwards she would chill out luxuriously in the jetted tub.
Our son and I have our own gym down in the basement to compete on who would get the higher Apple fitness score of the day. Next to my basement man cave is my workshop for my various creative projects. Our son takes one of the 2 guest bedrooms on the third floor to do his 3-D printing
project or to hang out with his friends.
Benji, our lovely corgi, a game changer for us, is very happy running around in our fenced-in backyard, joining his friends for walks in this beautiful tree-lined neighborhood or playing ball in nearby Grove Park. In the summer we spent most of the time cooking out on our deck and in the winter we ran our 2 fireplaces full blast.
Did we mention our neighbors–they are the best anyone could ever ask for! With Halloween Block Parties, Summer cookouts, Birthday Parties and Holiday gatherings, we are a close-knit community, always helping each other with knowledge sharing, helping hands and watching out for one another. No house is perfect but to us 334 Warwick is and we would have stayed here forever; but life is full of marvelous twists and turns. We hope you enjoy this special home and neighborhood as much as we have.
Warmly,
The Current Homeowners
