Seller Letter

When we moved into our home twenty-four years ago, we never imagined the profound and long-lasting impact this amazing community would have on us and our daughter Leah. We are so glad after a long search in 2002 that we decided to buy a house in Maplewood.

Each of us has been impacted by this home and community in different ways with different perspectives.

Lisa: I’m so grateful for the families and the moms I connected with and felt supported by during Leah’s school years. I’m part of a trio of moms that still keep in touch, and even though our girls (now young women) are in college, we continue to enjoy sharing news, meeting up for coffee or dinner when we can, and reminiscing about the intersection of our lives and the opportunities made available to our children growing up in Maplewood: school plays and concerts (so much artistic talent in Maplewood!), Back-to-School nights, conferences with supportive and talented teachers, a high school prom that showcased glamor and individual style (so impressive!), exploring the parks and spending many hours reading books in the public library (now beautifully renovated), and graduations that made us tear up and wonder, where did all the years go? I am so grateful that Leah grew up in Maplewood and is now the well-rounded, generous, and kind human being I always hoped she would be.

Todd: After a long search for our first home, we finally found 173 Garfield Place and it’s been a keeper! It has all the old school features and charm we wanted. We’ve done our best to improve and care for it. And I’ve always loved that the front door faces the sun

We have been very fortunate to find our neighbors, the community, schools and local amenities very welcoming. Here you will find yourself in close proximity to a quick jitney ride to the train, a short walk to the town pool, and a brief walk to Clinton Elementary School 3 blocks away where you can play on the field and playground. It’s where Leah went to school and first learned how to ride a bike! So many memories.

But we can’t forget mentioning the Village for shopping, restaurants, and ice cream treats. It offers so much and is a 5-minute drive. Lots to explore! We are also grateful for the neighbors who would lend a helping hand without hesitation, the years of block parties with the best music, and the open mindedness this community has bestowed on our daughter at such a young age. The generosity and community we have experienced here is firmly fixed in our hearts and minds, and we know that after only a short time at 173 Garfield Place, you will find the same to be true

We wish you all the joy and laughter life will bring you at 173 Garfield Plac

Best,

The current owners
