Seller Letter

Dear Future Home Buyer,

It is with a heavy heart that we find ourselves in the next chapter of our life as we close our chapter in this Oakview neighborhood. My husband and I came to the US in 2016 with our two small children. We settled in New York City for two years in search of purchasing a home with a great backyard in a wonderful neighborhood to raise our children. After searching various towns and looking at 50 houses, we finally found a house we loved. This house was 132 Lindbergh Blvd in Bloomfield in 2018.

We loved the wood burning fireplace, the spacious bedrooms, the wonderful basement, the huge backyard for the kids to play in along with the fact that it backed up to the golf course. My son was 7 years old, and my daughter was 5 1/2. When we moved in. The kids couldn’t be happier! The one thing that captured our interest of this house was the beautiful natural sunlight it gets throughout the entire day. The orientation is fantastic! The cross breeze is amazing! t is not an extremely hot house. Despite the cold winters, the furnace does a great job in keep the house warm. For being an old house, it decently keeps the heat in! The house felt joyful and spacious. We loved the backyard for the kids to run and play. We have spent 8 beautiful fast-paced years in this house. With wonderful memories in the summer, fall, winter and spring. We had no idea what a wonderful neighborhood this would be when we first moved in. Fortunately, we were two blocks from the oak view school where my kids attended. Our kids ran and played throughout this neighborhood. The neighbors are very heartwarming. This is a family community. The best Halloween’s in the area are held in our oak view section. Kids come from all over towns just to trick or treat in this wonderful area.

One of the reasons why we settle down in Bloomfield was for the proximity to New York City. Both my husband and I worked in the city, and we wanted to find a place that was close to be able to tend to our family as well as work. One of the great things about this neighborhood it is that it is nicely tucked away in the corner of the upper Montclair golf course. Once you’re in this neighborhood you get away from all the services that surround us. Fortunately, we are close too many shopping areas, restaurants, schools, and hospitals. There are two bus lines into New York that are relatively close to catch. Bloomfield Township also has a train station, and the Montclair and Glen Ridge train stations are not too far away.

When we first moved in, we noticed the great bones and structure of the house. However, there was wallpaper practically everywhere. We Made several updates throughout the years that added more quality of life to our family. The home was built in 1937 and we loved its character. We are the third homeowners of this house. In the attic on the wall there is a painting of a duck. That painting has a history that is tied to this home. The duck was painted by the original homeowner of the house who would admire the ducks in the pond on the golf course from the yard. The original homeowner painted that duck on an old piece of wood from the house. The second homeowner loved the idea of keeping a small memento of the past in the house. They shared with us how they loved to have the duck painting in the house. When we bought the house in 2018 the second homeowners told us that we could do whatever we wanted with the duck painting. But when she told me the story, I felt it was important to keep the duck in the house. You as a new homeowner can choose what you wish. We believe you will truly love living here.

Our kids went to Oakview elementary school from kindergarten to 6th grade. Both graduated and moved on to the middle school. The S the safe and family friendly neighborhood aloud many joyous years for my kids. There are a few local restaurants that we enjoyed visiting very much and even doing takeout. You have a vast variety of places such as Greek Japanese Mexican Italian and Chinese. We absolutely loved the proximity to Montclair that has even more wonderful restaurants to choose from. Brookdale Park is only a few minutes away and a great park for outdoor activities. In the summer you can enjoy summer concerts. One of the great perks of living on Lindbergh Blvd. is that in the winter, this area and this street is one of the first ones to get plowed. Even with the heavy snowstorms this area is always a priority for Bloomfield Township.

As our kids are now teenagers our life brings us back to our native Spain. The next chapter of our life will be in Valencia Spain allowing our kids to return to their roots. We are extremely saddened to sell this home that we have absolutely loved. We are hopeful that we can find another home in Spain that will bring us the same joy that this house has brought us.

We hope that the next homeowners can truly find their peace and tranquility in this home and enjoy it as much as we have had. We have left all the manuals for the appliances in the kitchen drawer. We also left the 2026-2027 Bloomfield Newsletter for your use and information on garbage/recycling days and town activities. All the best of happiness and fortune in this wonderful home. We hope we can back and visit one day in the future!

Sincerely,

The Lopez Catala Family
