Dear Future Buyer,

We bought our home in 2013 when we were just about to have our first child, because we fell in love with the charm of the house and the neighborhood. Both did not disappoint. We loved the idea of a large backyard, a screened in porch, and an attic we could one day turn into a playroom for the kids. Now with 3 growing children we are moving on, but wanted to share some of the things about 108 Roland that made this the perfect home for us these last 11 years.

First, the house is beautiful. On a spring day you can open the french windows and feel the cool breeze pass through; in the summer the kids would enjoy running through the sprinkler as it watered the garden; in the fall we would eat on the patio; in the winter we were likely to fill the living room with blankets and sit cozy around the fire. The bedrooms are big and have character, holding the kids’ many collections and pets. The windows let in lots of light and theShag Bark Hickory in the yard provides plenty of shade on a hot day. Once we finished the basement, it became home to roller skating and foosball tournaments.

The neighborhood is magical, with many happy families and an easy walk to downtown. We have taken to calling it the “never ending playdate,” in which the kids from the area feel
comfortable setting up a lemonade stand together or scooting up and down the sidewalk. The blocks have organized little-kid Trick or Treating and do progressive dinners twice a year. We start most of our weekdays with a .6 mile walk to Clinton Elementary, keeping both kids and parents healthy, and finish some work days coming back from the city with a .7 mile walk from the train.

In short, we picked our home for a combination of quality-of-life reasons, all of which have served us well over the last decade (especially the screened in porch during covid). Though we are moving on, we are not moving far, because we love the neighborhood and our neighbors so much. We hope that the house is as good a fit for you as it was for us.
